On October 6th I hit a milestone in my life. I turned 40. It's so funny because when I was a kid 40 seemed so old to me. Now that I'm in my 40th year I actually feel like someone hit the reset button. I'm just now really starting to live again and enjoy life.

It's hard to believe I started this hair journey of mine almost 2 years ago. It really just feels like yesterday that I grabbed the scissors and went to chopping. It wasn't easy in the beginning but now that I've got the hang of it I can't imagine wearing anything but my natural hair. When I first cut my hair I honestly didn't know if I could make it this far. I got my first perm at the age of 8. I have very thick hair and my Mom did what many other Moms dealing with a head full of thick natural hair did and actually still do. She permed it to make it more manageable. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I loved my permed hair. I think I wore it well. But a couple of years ago I started on my fitness journey.
